Raise your hand if you are the busiest busy bee? Who moves at whiplash speed, day in and day out, while crushing a to-do list that has to be done in order for tomorrow to be a good day? Basically all of us, right? Ladies. It’s just a fact. We are busy bees!
But we’ve got dreams and goals and ambitions to chase. Right?
Working a full time job, while pursuing a dream on the side, can be tiring. But we hold onto the hopes of it one day being incredibly worth the stressful nights of pounding at the keyboard at 2 a.m. or the days of pulling a double shift to make extra money for an investment in a better future.
When doing this crazy thing called life and chasing dreams that set your soul on fire, it is important to find balance within yourself. Yes, it is important to be ambitious with business or personal goals, but you have to know when to sit back, grab a glass of wine and relax.
Podcasts, in my opinion, have the potential to be a woman’s best friend. I absolutely swear by them. Whether you are needing a boost of inspiration, a life lesson, or a new perspective on life, there is a podcast out there for you.
For me, podcasts are a great way to learn and entertain myself while driving, walking my dog, washing the dishes or cleaning. Why not listen to the backstory of a strong woman’s successful journey into starting her own business while folding laundry? House chores are no fun. So spice it up with an informative/inspiring podcasts. They are great for all the multitaskers who like to make the most out of every minute in the day. And they’re great for those nights you want turn on your lavender diffuser, crawl into bed and cuddle with your pup.

#5 The Power in Purpose with Candice Coppola
Candice Coppola is a published author, wedding and event planner, owner of A Jubilee Event and host of The Power in Purpose Podcast. She is a business woman who believes that purpose is such a driving source in life and that is what brings me back each week. Her first podcast aired October 9th 2018 and she had been an influential force ever since.
My favorite episode so far happens to be one of her earlier ones : episode 2 Helping Women Feel Beautiful & Empowered. She interviewed Beth Lindsay Chapman; a woman who took a huge business risk that paid off handsomely. I won’t spoil the episode, but I will share this: Episode 2 taught me that following your gut is an instinct women need to act on. Chapman saw where her life needing tweaking and she took a huge risk to create the life she wanted. And now she is a respected influence in the bridal industry.
Coppola’s voice is easy to listen to. Her episodes are female friendly and leave you feeling ready to put in some work for your dreams. Be sure to give this one a chance!
#4 Whine Down with Jana Kramer
Grab a glass (or bottle) of wine before you click on one of this country singer’s podcast. I am a fan of her work on One Tree Hill and any song she sings, so when I found her podcast, I immediately added her to my library.
Jana is funny, down to earth and I love how open she and her husband, Mike, are. If you aren’t familiar with their past, I recommend doing some research. Now, that doesn’t mean learn and judge and hop on a high horse. These two have been through some stuff. Like, the real stuff. And they’ve come out on the other side stronger and are an inspiration to listeners. If you can’t respect how these two chose to work through their hard times and stay together, then feel free to scroll on.
Also, their guest list is HOT! One episode, they had my favorite dancer from Dancing with the Stars, Sharna Burgess. They’ve also had Jillian Michaels, Wells Adams and Mayim Bialik! I strongly believe that a good podcast needs a strong guest list and Jana and Mike nail that each week.
Jana doesn’t shy away from any topics. She speaks her mind and so does Mike. These two talk about relationship problems on air and it’s an eye opener to hear their way of handling certain hurtles. I’m also a fan of their positive outlook on therapy. Not many people are open about couples or individual therapy. These two are doing what it takes to make their marriage the best it can be and that is why I listen to them.
I just finished their Podcast Your Fertility Questions Answered and it was a such an eye opener. I won’t give too much away, but they cover anxiety, intimacy issues and fertility. Not every episode is this deep and serious (though they do cover these topics in a realistic and vulnerable way). Each week is refreshing, covering topics that are sure to keep you engaged and entertained.
#3 Goal Digger with Jenna Kutcher
If you are looking for an ambitious influencer, Jenna Kutcher is your gal! This hot mamma has paved such a successful path for herself and she gives back in every podcast episode. With over 200 episodes, Kutcher has become a positive influence on social media. She knows success and she loves sharing it with anyone who will listen.
Her Forbes top-rate podcast cover business, lifestyle, interviews with other successful business owners, social media strategies and marketing skills that are sure to help you or your business thrive to it’s fullest potential.
My favorite podcast, so far, has to be episode 208 where she interviews Amy Purdy. If you didn’t catch higher up in the blog, I’m a huge Dancing with the Stars fan. I love watching the contestants work hard and perform knock out routines. And Amy Purdy is one of my top five favorite people to dance on the show. Her story is incredibly inspiring, so of course, I squealed when I saw Jenna had done a podcast with her.
Not only is Jenna a fun podcast host, but she is a positive light on social media that I think the world needs more of. She interviews people who are only doing good in this world, spreading more love and positivity each week.
Looking to grow your business or become an influencer? I encourage that you follow her on Instagram and subscribe to her blog. Jenna offers resources and tools that can take you to the next level.
#2 Rise with Rachel Hollis
“Nobody cares about your dreams as much as you do, not even those who unconditionally love you.” – Rachel Hollis
So. If you are a young woman who doesn’t already know who Rachel Hollis is, let me introduce you to one of my favorite influencers that exists. She is a best selling author, a business coach, a business woman, a motivational speaker, a mom, a writer and a podcast host! And that is to only name a few things.
Rachel Hollis shares some of her conference sound bites as podcast episodes so you get all the inspirational motivation at just the click of a button. She even shares her backstory on how she became who she is today. And let me tell you something. She is honest and tells it to you straight. One of the coolest thing she says on stage is that ‘she is a coach, not a cheerleader’. I’m sick of motivational speakers sugar coating the path to success. The path to success isn’t paved with sugar and gum drops. It’s paved with hard work and sacrifices and Rachel Hollis makes that well known to all her listeners.
She also has an epic guest lineup. Recently, she sat down with Joe Biden. Am I fan of him politically? No. Am I a fan of him as a person? After listening to the podcast, yes. And that is what I find so inspiring about Rachel. She doesn’t care who her interviewee votes for. She cares about the person, the content of their story.
If you are looking for some inspiration to chase your goals or advice on how to give yourself a break (which you absolutely deserve), Rise Podcast needs to be added to your library.
Girl Stop Apologizing is set to release March 5th. Want to pre-order? Head over to The Hollis Company website and order yours today.
While at her website, check out everything else this woman has to offer!
#1 And my favorite Directionally Challenged with Candice King and Kayla Ewell
If you don’t already know, I’m a HUGE Vampire Diaries fan. So, when I heard these two were starting a podcast, I was on board before episode one even aired. And then episode one aired and I was hooked. Directionally Challenged is the reason I started listening to podcasts. Their first episode was the first podcast I had ever listened to, which immediately became part of my weekly routine as I found my other four favorites metioned above.
Candice and Kayla are engaged with their fans on Instagram. They are honest with their listeners and ask the kind of questions we are sometimes to afraid to ask ourselves. Their episodes remind us all that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. What matters is continuing and not giving up until you do.
This podcast started in October of 2018 and they are already creating a loyal following. From Tech Addiction to The Gift of Failure, the Directionally Challenged Podcasts’ guest list is ready to steer you in the right direction.
Take a listen to any of these AWESOME 5 podcasts I mentioned and let me know what you think! I’m sure you’ll be hooked on at least one of them. Leave a comment below if you find a favorite!
And feel free to share your favorite podcast with me. I’m always looking for a new addition to my library.
Until next time
